The primary objective of the job

Trucks are to be loaded and offloaded onto a level surface or as close to it as possible, securing loads to be carried out according to loading and offloading procedure, and double checking during trips to ensure that glass is always properly tied and loaded in a safe manner. This is done not only to assist the driver in loading and offloading glass, but also to ensure that the vehicle is manoeuvred in the safest possible manner for delivery to customers.

Principal Aim or Objective

Check to see where the vehicle can be loaded and unloaded in the most convenient location.
The quality check sheet should be completed when loading.
Assist the driver and report any damage to any property that may have occurred when loading and unloading in a secure manner
Prior to departing from a customer, it is imperative that the load be constrained once more before driving away.
Provide assistance to the driver when the truck is being moved or reversed in limited places or in regions that are not visible.
When it is possible, assist with the management of the paperwork.
Observe all of the work instructions, standard operating procedures, and rules that govern the firm.
Maintain compliance with the standards for the environment, safety, and housekeeping
You are responsible for completing any additional tasks that have been required by the plant supervisor to the best of your ability.
Willing to put in extra hours and attend work on weekends when necessary

It would be advantageous to have a valid driver’s licence with a PrDP and a grade 12 or higher driver’s licence.
