Paramedics x3

There are three paramedics who provide basic life support. The total cost to the company is R 185 451,85 to R 259 668,26.

The Infrastructure and Facility Management Department at the Robben Island Museum is now hiring for the post described above, which is a temporary one. In the event of an emergency, it is the responsibility of paramedics, also known as basic life support personnel, to provide prompt medical assistance.

They give important care that can save lives, including first aid, to those who are in critical conditions. As a result, they have a substantial impact on either the preservation of lives or the improvement of patient well-being.

One of the duties and responsibilities is to ensure that ambulances and other corporate equipment are operated in a safe and efficient manner.

• Complies with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and laws pertaining to but not limited to protocols, standards of care, motor vehicle operations, and patient rights, as well as all Robben Island Museum Ambulance rules, policies, directives, or instructions from management.

• Is responsible for preparing inventories, stocking supplies, and inspecting equipment to ensure that it is operating correctly.

• Demonstrates the attitude of a Health Care Professional, which includes, but is not limited to, maintaining a clean appearance, displaying courteous, professional, and ethical behaviour, and demonstrating the ability to work constructively with other members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Health Care System.

• Exhibits a genuine willingness to enhance and advance the knowledge and abilities of those working in the field of emergency medicine on a continuous basis.

• In both pre-hospital and inter-facility settings, demonstrates the ability to provide competent patient care to patients. The individual is able to interact verbally and in writing with patients, family members, medical personnel, coworkers, and members of the general public in a manner that is both effective and professional.

• It is demonstrated that the individual is knowledgeable of and complies with the procedures of the local, state, and regional emergency medical services.

• Provides evidence that they have complied with the requirements for continuing education and licensure issued by the Department of Health and/or the Robben Island Museum through their attendance and documentation.

• Exhibits the knowledge and skills necessary to perform tasks within the System Status Management programme for the organisation.

• Maintains a clean and full uniform, personal hygiene, and a professional, pleasant, and polite demeanour towards all individuals with whom the individual comes into touch while on duty to ensure that they are treated with respect.

• Responsible for the completion and maintenance of accurate records and paperwork pertaining to transportation, equipment inspection, issues involving the utilisation of supplies, and other forms of documentation that are involved in the operation.

• The individual is responsible for promoting the company, doing public relations duties when assigned, providing standby coverage at special events, delivering medical supplies and equipment when assigned, and performing other tasks when assigned. This individual is responsible for inspecting ambulances, company vehicles, equipment, and supplies, as well as any other matters that are pertinent to the safe, efficient, and proper running of the company, and promptly reporting any damage, deficiencies, safety issues, or other problems that may occur. Regarding any and all information that pertains to company policies, pricing, contract terms, trade secrets, competitive information, strategic information, patient data, forms, manuals, charts, employee data, or any other sensitive or confidential information obtained while employed by or related to Liberty, the individual is required to maintain strict confidentiality.

Competence, experience, and technical expertise are required. You must have completed the 12th grade, have a valid driving licence with the code C1 and a valid personal driving permit (PDP) with at least two years of driving experience, have a valid ambulance driver certificate, be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa, keep a driving record that is acceptable and have a current and valid state BLS paramedic licence and certification.
