📝 Minimum Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• ✅ Grade 12 or at least 1 year of relevant cashier or retail experience
• ✅ Proficiency in English and the dominant local language
• ✅ Basic arithmetic skills and numerical accuracy
• ✅ Good administrative and organizational abilities
• ✅ Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• ✅ Ability to remain calm under pressure

💼 Key Duties and Responsibilities

💵 1. Cash Handling

• Balance all assigned cash (floats, petty cash, takings)
• Accurately identify and scan goods at POS terminals
• Capture correct payment types from customers
• Maintain adequate change throughout your shift
• Perform pick-ups and cash-ups precisely
• Ensure all takings are secured in the Drop Safe
• Process inter-store transactions, deliveries, and quotes accurately

🗃 2. Administration

• Complete and file all documentation related to cashier operations
• Ensure compliance with company procedures

🛒 3. Ready for Business

• Adhere to “Ready for Business” standards as per the Cashbuild Way
• Keep the till area organized, professional, and customer-ready

🤝 4. Customer Service

• Deliver fast, friendly, and efficient checkout service
• Guide customers to the appropriate departments when needed
• Represent the brand with proper dress code and professional demeanor

• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) standards
• Report any irregularities to the Store Manager immediately
• Safeguard passwords and follow secure till-point procedures
• Ensure cash is safely transported and stored as per protocol
