Job Title: UI Claims Officer

Salary: R269,499 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time (Permanent)


Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
  • Experience: 0–6 months (entry-level)
  • Knowledge of:
    • Unemployment Insurance Act
    • Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act
    • Public Service Regulations and Act
    • Batho Pele Principles
    • Departmental policies and procedures
    • Customer care practices
  • Skills:
    • Verbal and written communication
    • Active listening
    • Computer literacy
    • Customer service
    • Decision-making

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims on the relevant systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Register employers and validate employee declarations as per regulations
  • Facilitate the timely payment of approved claims
  • Respond to inquiries related to processed claims or other claims matters
  • Handle administrative tasks within the department
