AFGRI invites ambitious South African youth to apply for a 3-year Apprenticeship Programme in Tractor or Earthmoving Mechanics. This opportunity is exclusively for matriculants – if you qualify, this is your chance to learn, grow, and earn!

Programme Structure

  • Duration: 3 years (with a 6-month probation)
  • Training: Practical training phases, distance learning (N subjects), and internal supplier training
  • Commitment: A contract with AFGRI (up to 4 years maximum including training and β€œwork-back” period)

Duties Include

  • Servicing and maintaining tractors and earthmoving equipment
  • Workshop and field diagnostics and repairs
  • Stock control and general admin duties
  • Assisting in customer service delivery
  • Supporting general operational tasks

Minimum Entry Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Matric certificate with the following (preferably passed):
    • Mathematics (not Math Literacy)
    • Physical Science or Technical Science
    • Technical subjects (e.g., Engineering Graphics & Design)

OR

  • N2 Certificate with the following subjects:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • Diesel Trade Theory
    • One of: Industrial Electronics / Engineering Drawing / Motor Trade Theory

Note: If you do not yet have the N2, AFGRI may support your studies as part of the programme.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Good communication & admin skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • South African citizenship

  • Team player with strong attention to detail
  • Results-driven and deadline-focused
