🌟 Job Overview

Rand Water is seeking two motivated Workshop Assistants – Mechanical (A2 Operators) to join our Operations team at Zuikerbosch. The successful candidates will support the safe, reliable, and efficient functioning of mechanical equipment by performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

✅ Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 or N3 in Fitting & Turning.
• Experience: At least 1 year in fitting and turning.
• Driver’s License: Valid Code B and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily, monthly, and annual planned maintenance tasks.
• Investigate and repair breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and legal requirements.
• Work overtime when required to meet operational needs.
• Plan and coordinate projects, including material, tools, and transport.
• Conduct site inspections and provide input on site requirements.
• Support maintenance planning through reporting, data analysis, and participation in:
  • Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) programmes
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions
  • Shutdown planning

• Operation of field mechanical equipment.
• Strong understanding of the OHS Act and its application.
• Awareness of water purification and treatment processes.
• Skills:
  • Fault finding & problem solving (analytical ability)

  • Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) techniques
