📘 Position Purpose

Transnet is offering an Apprenticeship opportunity for aspiring Fitters & Turners at its Koedoespoort facility. This is a structured, work-based learning programme where trainees gain both hands-on technical experience under the guidance of qualified Artisans and formal theoretical training at an accredited training institution.

🔩 Key Responsibilities

As an apprentice, you will:

• Prepare and plan work sites, tools, equipment, and materials for trade-related activities.
• Use hand, power, and measuring tools effectively.
• Assemble, install, fit, and maintain mechanical components and systems.
• Inspect, test, and repair mechanical equipment and assemblies.
• Follow safety, quality, and technical procedures at all times.

🎓 Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have one of the following:

Option 1: N2 Certificate with the following subjects:

• Fitting & Machining
• Mathematics (Pure)
• Engineering Drawing
• Engineering Science

Option 2: N3 – N6 Certificate with the same trade-related subjects.

Option 3: NCV Level 4 Certificate in Engineering and Related Design (Fitting & Turning stream), including:

• English (First Additional Language)
• Mathematics (Pure)
• Life Orientation
• Engineering Process
• Professional Engineering Practice
• Applied Engineering Technology
• Fitting & Turning

Option 4: Technical Grade 12 including:

• Mathematics (Pure)
• Physical Science
• Engineering Graphics & Design
• Fitting & Turning / Mechanical Technology
• Home Language and First Additional Language
• Life Orientation

Age Requirement: Between 18 and 35 years old
