🔍 About the Role
As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll support the Restaurant Manager in driving operational excellence, staff performance, customer satisfaction, and financial results. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic restaurant environment.
✅ Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 2–3 years of experience in restaurant management
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage and lead teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of restaurant operations
Preferred:
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
💰 Key Responsibilities
📊 Financial Management
- Ensure accurate daily financial administration in line with Nando’s policies.
- Monitor and control expenses, stock, waste, and pilferage.
- Support efforts to meet business performance goals (sales, profit, customer count, etc.).
- Track performance metrics like turnover, ticket average, and gross profit daily.
⚙️ Operational Management
- Manage stock levels and ensure accurate stock control every day.
- Conduct compliance checks for health, safety, maintenance, and hygiene.
- Help develop and implement corrective actions from audit results.
- Maintain adherence to Nando’s operational standards.
👥 People & Performance Management
- Assist in weekly staff rostering to meet operational needs.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Ensure daily attendance tracking and adherence to opening/closing procedures.
- Support performance management and escalate issues when needed.
- Promote continuous learning and compliance with training programs.
📣 Marketing & Customer Experience
- Implement national, regional, and local marketing campaigns.
- Address customer feedback and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Drive improvements based on mystery shopper feedback.
- Support local marketing plans to grow the customer base and boost sales.
