Purpose of the Role
As a Fuel Distribution Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely, accurate, and safe delivery of fuel across the Sasol retail and commercial network. This role demands precision, accountability, and adherence to safety standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute all fuel deliveries on time and in full.
- Ensure reliability and compliance of deliveries using Sasol’s fleet.
- Complete and verify all loading instructions (Fuel FACS and Renaissance).
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and report any vehicle defects immediately.
- Maintain real-time communication with the Logistics Command Centre regarding deviations or delays.
- Record shipment details accurately, including reasons for gains or losses.
- Follow the approved delivery sequence to optimize efficiency.
- Identify and report potential operational and safety risks in line with OHS Act requirements.
- Report and participate in all incident investigations (RCA).
- Prevent spillages and product contamination during operations.
- Comply with all site, SHERQ, and operational procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence
- Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP)
- Dangerous Goods and Hazchem Certification
- 2–5 years of experience in the petroleum industry (fuel transport and delivery)
