The applicant has the duty of confirming that HR has received the application prior to the advertisement’s closing date. Position Objective To maximise cargo flow, minimise damages, and boost terminal revenues by loading, transporting, and unloading all cargo within Transnet Port Terminals using the appropriate plant and equipment in accordance with the relevant standard operating procedure.
Placement of Outputs
1. Complete the assigned machine’s daily task before starting work to guarantee the equipment’s operating integrity.
2. Fill out daily task sheets, note equipment issues, and report them to the supervisor.
3. Refill the equipment’s fluid and fuel tanks.
4. Use the assigned equipment in compliance with the relevant standard operating procedure and keep an eye on its performance while the task is being completed. Drive a tractor/trailer, a forklift, and a front end loader.
5. Report mishaps or occurrences that happen while carrying out your duties.
6. During the performance of duties, make sure the appropriate equipment and attachments are used, and swap out equipment as needed to manage changing commodities.
7. Complete the shift’s last task.
Experience and Qualifications Requirements, Background, and Integrated Work Conditions:
• NQF 4 or Matric;
• Code 14 (EC Licence);
• Competency certificate for every machine used.
• Two years of appropriate driving experience in warehouse tally, maritime services, or port operations Years with certifications or without any formal education
• Certificate of Competency for every machine operated; Grade 10 / NQF 2.
• Three years of appropriate driving experience in warehouse tally, maritime services, or port operations Proficiencies
• Able to operate specific terminal machines with competence;
• Familiarity with operational areas and procedures;
• Understanding and knowledge of terminal mobile machines
• Handling or loading various goods or cargo;
• Reporting of faults and incidents, including daily machine check lists;
