GLC Warehouse invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Forklift Driver. While external applicants are welcome, preference will be given to current permanent team members in line with internal promotion policies.
This appointment will be guided by our Employment Equity Plan, aiming to improve representivity in terms of race, gender, and disability in accordance with our transformation goals.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Inspect truck loading to prevent in-transit damage
- Safely offload vehicles and containers
- Assist in moving, binning, picking, and lifting of heavy goods
- Operate a forklift safely in line with training and operational procedures
- Conduct pre-task and post-task risk assessments
- Ensure loads are properly secured before moving
- Complete a forklift safety checklist before each shift
- Report faults to the supervisor and maintenance team promptly
- Adhere to all health, safety, and housekeeping procedures
- Report near misses, accidents, or unsafe acts immediately
- Perform ad hoc tasks and follow reasonable instructions
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
📌 Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or ABET Level 4
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehousing environment
- Valid forklift license is compulsory
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and after hours as required
- Physically fit and capable of working under pressure
- Effective communication skills
