Role Overview
As a Handyman / Tradesman, you will be responsible for resolving maintenance issues efficiently across hotel facilities. Your duties will span security, pools, grounds, guest rooms, and other hotel areas. The role includes a variety of DIY and technical tasks — from basic carpentry and plumbing to painting and decorating.
Key Responsibilities
- Address and resolve maintenance issues logged during shifts or via verbal instructions.
- Perform general DIY and repair work across hotel facilities.
- Maintain security systems, pools, grounds, and guest rooms.
- Carry out tasks in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and decorating.
- Ensure hotel areas remain safe, functional, and presentable.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12.
- 1–2 years’ previous handyman or maintenance experience.
- Relevant trade qualification or certificate (additional qualifications advantageous, salary dependent).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Effective communication skills with both staff and hotel guests.
- Honest, trustworthy, and detail-oriented.
- Presentable, well-spoken, and professional.
- Proactive team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently when needed.
