About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Heavy Duty Driver to support our Cargo and Catering operations at Hamad International Airport. In this role, you will handle the clearance and transportation of air shipments, operate heavy-duty vehicles safely, and manage ad hoc food and non-food deliveries in full compliance with food safety regulations.
This position is key to ensuring smooth operations, timely procurement, and efficient transport services across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to the cargo team for customs clearance of air shipments.
- Transport consignments between the Cargo terminal and the In-flight Catering facility.
- Operate heavy-duty vehicles in compliance with all road safety standards.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks to ensure roadworthiness.
- Purchase and deliver ad hoc food and non-food orders from local outlets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timeliness.
- Adhere strictly to food safety regulations during all transport activities.
- Verify quality, quantity, and expiry dates of purchased items.
- Source requested products as per specifications from different outlets.
- Handle and account for cash transactions during purchases.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: High School qualification with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with no prior job-related experience.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong driving skills with a valid, clean driver’s license.
- Basic literacy and numeracy.
- Effective coordination and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken & written).
- Ability to work under pressure
