The Western Cape government’s Department of Infrastructure is looking for a motivated worker to help with the upkeep of the Proclaimed Road Network and carry heavy road construction apparatus and equipment using a Transporter. Its headquarters are in Oudtshoorn.
Minimum Conditionsa grade 10 diploma or an equivalent; six years minimum of related experience; a valid professional driving permit (PDP) and code EC/EC1 driving licence.Recommendation
knowledge in the following areas: Road construction equipment use, loading, and transportation; the use of safety equipment; and basic Transporter maintenance. The ability to move about the Central Korea and Garden Route Districts while camping out in trailers.
Important Performance Areas
transporting tools and machinery used in road building with a transporter; Verify the load on the transporter is legally compliant with the permission and the transport permit’s validity; Load and secure the tools for building roads; Verify the roadworthiness of the transporter; inspect the safety measures; complete transporter logs; daily cleaning and upkeep of the Transporter; In-shop equipment testing for road construction; material and spare part collection; transporting workers to and from work as necessary; the upkeep of highways. operate many other maintenance and construction equipment.
