About the Opportunity
Are you detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in warehouse logistics? IMCD South Africa is looking for a Logistics Assistant to support its dynamic sales and supply chain operations. You will play a vital role in managing 3rd party warehousing processes and ensuring smooth inventory movement across our network.
Key Responsibilities
1. Third-Party Warehouse Coordination
Manage the full consolidation process at 3PL warehouses.
Update delivery dates and expedite stock transfers.
Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) for any discrepancies.
Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and daily transfer list updates.
2. Inventory Management & Control
Oversee L-Holds, conduct stock counts, and handle book-to-book reconciliations.
Monitor and extend expiration dates for stock and COAs (Certificates of Analysis).
Manage inventory reclassifications and maintain batch control integrity.
3. Administrative & Backup Support
Assist in manual OP order receipting as backup to the IBL team.
Manage MDN (Material Delivery Notes), labeling, and sample stock transfers.
Resolve warehousing queries promptly and escalate issues through NCRs.
What We’re Looking For
Skills & Attributes
Strong communication skills – confident dealing with customers, principals, and colleagues.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High attention to detail with excellent prioritization and multitasking ability.
Strong computer skills with ERP proficiency (JDE experience is a bonus).
Educational Background
Tertiary qualification in Logistics is advantageous, especially with a focus on shipping and materials handling.
Experience
3–5 years of proven experience in warehousing and distribution.
Background in Inventory Classification, Reconciliation, Batch Control, and ISO9001 is essential.
Work Environment & Location
Based at IMCD’s office: 275 Oak Avenue, Ferndale, Randburg.
Reports to: Inventory Manager.
Travel: Minimal – occasional trips to warehouse sites for stock counts.
