Purpose of the Role
As a Stocktaker, your primary responsibility will be to perform accurate stock takes at scheduled intervals and ensure inventory is managed efficiently and according to company standards.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Stock Control & Inventory Accuracy
Ensure all stock is properly binned, located, and displayed neatly.
Wrap and package items to prevent damage.
Conduct daily and monthly stock counts and cycle counts.
Reconcile stock discrepancies and report findings to supervisors.
Maintain a clean and organized inventory area.
Keep detailed records of stock movements and adjustments.
2. Warehouse Operational Support
Step in to assist in various warehouse functions when needed.
Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles and containers.
Drive company vehicles if licensed, and assist with deliveries.
Ensure delivery documentation is accurate and returned properly.
Maintain general warehouse cleanliness (sweeping, dusting, debris removal).
Provide excellent support during on-site deliveries and customer service.
3. SHEQ and Safety Compliance
Comply with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations.
Report unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.
Follow all safety procedures and use PPE at all times.
Support Integrated Management System activities.
Identify and report any non-conformities or improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year in a similar stock or inventory control role.
At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse or operational environment.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge:
Solid understanding of stock control practices and warehouse operations.
Basic awareness of ISO standards related to warehousing.
Skills:
Computer literacy; basic proficiency in SAGE Evolution or similar software.
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
